Uranus Fudge Factory Mural
This mural was part of the Wayne County Mural Festival. This 800sq ft mural was design for the Richmond, Indiana Uranus Fudge Factory. Uranus Fudge factories are strategically located near major highway exits, making them popular roadside attractions. The original Uranus Fudge factory is situated on historic Route 66 in Missouri, which inspired the vintage color palette and overall design of my work. I drew additional inspiration from National Park posters, particularly one I purchased in Shenandoah National Park that says, “See the Milky Way.” The inclusion of a UFO in the design references vintage sci-fi movies and alien abductions, a theme that runs throughout all Uranus Fudge factories. Naturally, I incorporated the planet Uranus, from which the brand takes its name. The bees and pollinator planets were inspired by the owner’s acres of land he has set aside for the bees and their honey that is sold in the Uranus stores.
